The International Merchandise Trade Statistics Section (IMTSS) of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), Department of Economic and Social Affairs produces analytical merchandise trade tables containing trade values and indices for countries (areas) and regions. These tables are published in the United Nations Monthly Bulletin of Statistics (MBS). Data on this page are provided through UN Comtrade Public API in order to give easy and immediate access to all available data series in CSV. The data are continuously updated based on advance release calendar. The archived MBS trade tables in original format (PDF) are available from MBS in Prints.

Beginning with 2017 edition of International Trade Statistics Yearbook, part 1 of the yearbook was completely redesigned to consider new additions of graphs, tables and analytical text for global, regional and selected trade or economic groupings. Part 2 of volumes I and II contain country and product profiles, respectively. The underlying data for the profiles are taken at a specific date from UN Comtrade Database to preserve a snapshot of World Trade. Please note that UN Comtrade data are continuously added and revised.
For further information please refer to yearbook website.
This indicator is calculated from original datasets to determine global unit values including their acceptable range unite value for each HS sub-heading. These SUVs are also being used in UN Comtrade data processing to detect outliers and to estimate non-match/missing quantity information.

Access and references to historical merchandise trade data for the years 1900-1960 to the extent that such information is available at the Trade Statistics Branch of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
This publication is only available as a draft paper and it is indicated that “The data contained in the present paper should be regarded as preliminary, it is requested that no use be made of them until final publication.” Yet, the paper appears to be based on solid research and it is the best source for historical data available to us. Nevertheless this information is provided without assuming any responsibility for the accuracy of the data and only as a special service to interested users which can use this data under their own responsibility and according to their own judgment.
Tables I-XXIII give for total world exports and for the exports and imports of twenty-two individual countries, years 1900-1913, 1921-1938, 1948 and 1950-1960, current values in United States dollars and value indices of: (a) total trade, (b) trade in manufactured goods, and (c) trade in other goods. The Annual Totals Table (ATT) of the International Merchandise Trade Statistics Section (IMTSS) of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) provides annual totals of imports and exports for all countries beginning with the year 2000 for which such data are available for publication.
The ATT addresses the issue that data users are often confronted with different totals provided by different sources.
For further information please refer to the introduction.
The ATT is an effort to reconcile and explain any differences in the merchandise trade data published by UNSD. The Common Data Set (CDS) is a joint effort by Eurostat, OECD, UNSD, UNCTAD and WTO to reconcile their time series on merchandise trade statistics which is more strict in its goal to reconcile all differences. For more information regarding the CDS please visit the World Trade Organization.
