Building on the outcomes of the Workshop on "Energy Statistics, Balances and Accounts for Informed Energy and Climate Policies" and the Panel Discussion on "The Role of National Statistical Offices in Supporting Data-Driven Energy Transitions", held in Ankara in December 2024, in collaboration with UNSD, ESCWA, SESRIC, IEA and AITRS, this event aims to address key challenges and opportunities in the area of data-driven energy transitions. To be organized as a side event on the margins of the 56th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission on 18 February 2025, the Webinar will explore the essential role of NSOs and other relevant constituents in the global energy transition by highlighting the link between robust energy statistics and effective policy. This side event will focus on the critical role of collaborative data ecosystems in accelerating energy transitions, particularly through the use of innovative approaches and advanced data systems. It will provide a platform for leading experts from relevant international, regional and national organizations to discuss best practices and challenges in compiling and sharing energy data.

This event aligns with the agenda item on Energy Statistics and emphasizes the importance of collaborative data ecosystems in achieving sustainable energy transitions. The discussions will support the implementation of global frameworks, including SEEA, and promote innovative practices for renewable energy data monitoring and analysis.
